What are some things you wish you knew before renovating a bathroom?
Starting a master bathroom remodel. If you have any ideas, tips, advice, or words of warning from your remodels, I’d love to hear them all.
While that drywall is down, be sure to put in an outlet next to the toilet for a bidet. Heated tile flooring is nice on cold winter mornings. Put wood blocks between the studs where you want to attach things like towel bars, TP holders, etc. so much better/easier than anchors.
Consider adding an outlet by the toilet for a bidet—it’s truly life-changing! However, be prepared for an extended bathroom remodel timeline. Your estimated schedule will likely double due to factors like supply chain delays, plumbing, electrical work, lighting, and tiling, all of which tend to present unexpected challenges. It's wise to budget for at least 10% more time and 20% more cost than initially projected. In short, expect things to take longer and cost more than anticipated, so plan thoroughly and be prepared for surprises along the way.
