What exactly is an IT job? What kind of tasks are involved, and is it difficult?

I love technology and have the opportunity to intern at a large IT company. What do they do?

There is no single definition of an IT job, as the field encompasses a wide variety of roles. From development and server administration to network engineering, testing, project management, business analysis, systems analysis, database administration, report writing, technical writing, and service desk support, the possibilities are vast. I am a developer. My role involves taking user requirements and technical design documents to build systems that fulfill those needs. This process includes design work, database modifications, coding, testing, collaborating with business stakeholders and team members, providing production support, running ad hoc queries, reviewing log files, and handling many other tasks.
