PYATOK architecture + urban design

Pyatok is an architecture and urban design firm based in Oakland, California, dedicated to fostering vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive communities through sensitive design, education, service, and technical innovation. Founded with a focus on helping lower-income communities shape housing solutions that reflect their cultural and social roots, the company now works across a broad spectrum of populations, from affordable and multi-family housing residents to students and market-rate communities seeking healthier, more livable environments. Pyatok emphasizes participatory, people-centered design processes, engaging residents and stakeholders as co-creators to ensure projects respond to real needs, values, and aspirations. With over 40 years of experience, the company integrates economic, social, cultural, ecological, and technological considerations into its work, while also cultivating a supportive, growth-oriented internal culture for staff that mirrors the collaborative, community-focused ethos of its projects.
