About Company

Capitol Hill Arts Workshop (CHAW) is a nonprofit community arts organization founded in 1972 with a mission of building community through the arts; CHAW offers a broad range of visual and performing arts instruction for all ages—including youth after-school programs and camps, adult classes, private music lessons, artist residencies, internships, a community darkroom, outreach and public-art projects—operates a gallery and events program, serves roughly 5,000 people annually in the Capitol Hill area, and remains committed to accessibility and inclusivity (historically never turning anyone away for inability to pay) from its location at 545 7th Street SE in Washington, DC.
